Donica Harper, PhD, LCPC

BHP Co-Founder & MD Approved Clinical Supervisor 

Welcome from Dr. Donica Harper, LCPC  (She/Her/Hers)!

Dr. Harper holds a Doctorate of Philosophy in Psychology with a concentration in Clinical Psychology from Fielding Graduate University.  Prior to her Ph.D., she earned a Master's degree in psychology with a specialization in military culture and families from Adler University and a graduate certificate in Professional Counseling Studies from the University of Baltimore. She also holds two Bachelor's degrees in psychology and biology from Winston-Salem State University.

As a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), she has experience working with all ages and treatment modalities (e.g., individual, family, and couples therapy). Her clinical interests include trauma/grief counseling, PTSD, racial disparities and conflict, sexual identity, couples counseling, attachment issues, and training upcoming clinicians. She specifically enjoys working with first responders, military personnel, members of the LBGTQIA+ community, and college-aged individuals. Dr. Harper is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional who has been trained in brainspotting and narrative trauma therapy. Her preferred theoretical approaches are narrative therapy, feminist theory, and solution-focused therapy.

Donica is an MD Approved Clinical Supervisor who enjoys training and working closely with up-and-coming trainees and LGPCs. She is an active member of Psi Chi (International Honor Society in psychology), the Association of Black Psychologists, the American Psychological Association, and the American Counseling Association.
