Meet the BHP Family
Welcome from Lorin Kotz, BA (she/her/hers)

Lorin earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from New England College in New Hampshire. She is currently completing her Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling at McDaniel College, where she continues to deepen her knowledge and skills. Before transitioning into counseling, Lorin spent over 17 years working one-on-one with clients as an event planner. She sincerely appreciated listening, problem-solving, and creating a supportive environment during this time. Now, as a counselor-in-training, Lorin brings that same warmth, patience, and dedication to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges.
From an early age, Lorin was drawn to connecting with people and understanding their unique life experiences. Lorin’s approach to counseling is shaped by a genuine curiosity about each client’s personal story. She believes no two people share the same journey and strives to meet clients where they are, creating a therapeutic relationship built on trust, compassion, and understanding. Lorin believes that sometimes, we just need to be heard—our feelings validated, our stories acknowledged. Lorin provides that space, helping ease the weight of life’s journey by offering support, encouragement, and insight.
Lorin’s clinical approach is down-to-earth, client-centered, and solution-focused. She believes that meaningful progress in therapy begins with a strong therapeutic alliance built on collaboration, trust, and mutual respect. Lorin provides a safe, supportive space to explore thoughts, feelings, and challenges without judgment. Whether you are navigating life transitions, managing stress, or seeking personal growth, Lorin strives to empower you to gain insight, develop coping strategies, and create meaningful change.
In her free time, Lorin enjoys spending moments with her two Bernese Mountain Dogs, Maisy and Bodie! She also cherishes time with her husband and family and adores her niece and
nephew, who affectionately call her Aunt Lolo! Lorin loves this quote by Christine Caine: “Sometimes when you're in a dark place, you think you've been buried, but you've actually been
planted.” Now it’s time to bloom!
